CHILDRENS CLASSES
Susyballet offers high quality, nurturing ballet classes for children aged from two upwards.
Nursery ballet classes aim to introduce children to the enjoyment and technique of ballet through songs, games and stories. For children age four and upwards we follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus with a view to entering children for examinations and class awards. Examinations can be a wonderful performing experience for children which they enjoy immensely. Furthermore, it provides a feeling of pride and achievement and helps to prepare children for the next level in ballet. For our older & more experienced ballet dancers, we have an invite only strength, technique & performance class which is a fun, engaging class designed to develop strength, technique & performance skills, helping dancers to grow both technically & artistically.
We also run succesful curriculum dance classes at Englefield Green Montessori School and after school ballet clubs at ACS Egham (K, Grade 1 & 2) & Bishopsgate School, Englefield Green (Reception upwards). Our Modern & Tap dance classes are currently only for children who are enrolled at Bishopsgate School (Year 1 & up). We run these as after school clubs for Years 1 & up.
Dancing increases strength, develops co-ordination, balance & musicality. Dance is inclusive and gives children an opportunity to express themselves. It boosts cognitive performance, is sociable and boosts self-esteem. Tap dancing, teaches children to hear different layers of music & to understand different & complex rhythms. The feet become percussian instruments in their own right. It is great cardiovasular exercise & tones and strengthens the legs, ankles and feet. Modern dance, whilst providing all the health benefits above, is a more relaxed form of dance than ballet and provides students with a good base knowledge for further dance genres and is useful for building technique.
