ADULT
CLASSES

Susyballet offers mixed ability adult ballet classes as a group class and also private coaching.

Ballet has many health benefits. As well as being fun, sociable and enjoyable, some of the benefits include increasing strength, coordination, flexibility, speed, balance and endurance. It is also a great workout.

Our ballet classes start with a thorough warm up and follow the traditional classical ballet method of exercises at the barre, followed by centre work and finally a cool down. Our Ballet Stretch & Conditioning class is based on the Progressing Ballet Technique method, which is a program designed to enhance dance technique by training muscle memory. It helps to prevent injury & enhances athletic ability by focusing on core strength, weight placement & body alignment and is great for all sports people not just dancers. It is great for all round flexibility & strength.

Our classes are designed to help students improve gradually over time, increasing the content in terms of pace, difficulty and ballet vocabulary as the term progresses. You will notice the most benefit from taking regular classes.

What to wear to class:

Please wear whatever you are most comfortable dancing in. We would suggest leggings and a sports T shirt to begin with. Socks can be worn for the first few classes but after this, we would recommend you purchase ballet shoes.

Ballet shoes should be fitted professionally in order to get the best shoe and fit for your individual requirements and can be bought from specialist dance stores such as 4 Dance, Walton-on-Thames.
